If you missed this week’s Prog-Watch you can listen HERE

This week’s program is another one of those mash-ups that I like to refer to as a variety show…just a bunch of great progressive rock, new and old, but with an emphasis on the new(er). We’ll hear music from Yes, Neal Morse, Renaissance, Flying Colors, Karibow, Flutatious, Steven Wilson, Kino, Riverside & Vinegar Joe! Get out of your brain on the Prog-Watch 515!

Progressive Tracks Show #254 (Supporting Live Music), originally broadcast on Saturday, March 24, 2018, is now available to download or listen to anytime you desire.

You’ve heard me say it more than once:  Supporting artists by attending live shows is the best way to ensure you’ll be able to hear more great music in the future.  There’s nothing like the thrill of seeing your idols on stage, experiencing a young band maturing before your eyes, or discovering the talent of a previously unknown opening band.  But you have to be there to create the memory.

This week we’ll highlight some of the artists who are out on the road in the next few months.  And no matter where you live, chances are they’ll be making the rounds somewhere near you.   And yes, we’ll have some new music too.

  • Forsqueak – “Lapis” from Forsqueak on Almendra Music
  • Pinn Dropp – “Kingdom of Silence” from from Pinn Dropp EP on 766990 Records DK
  • Flutatious – “Rendezvous in Marrakesh” from Festival on Magick Eye Records Ltd
  • Uriah Heep – “The Wizard” from Demons and Wizards (Deluxe Edition) on Castle Communications
  • Uriah Heep – “Shadows of Grief” from Look at Yourself (Expanded Deluxe Edition) on Castle Communications
  • Bent Knee – “These Hands” from Land Animal on InsideOutMusic
  • Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. – “Part 3” from Pink Lady Lemonade (You’re from Inner Space) on Alien8 Recordings
  • Steven Wilson – “No Twilight Within the Courts of the Sun” from Insurgentes on Kscope
  • Flutatious – “Festival” from Festival on Magick Eye Records Ltd
  • The Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster – “Wires\Dream/Wires” from Wires\Dream/Wires on Rockosmos
  • Forsqueak – “Kitalpha” from FSK on Almendra Music

For this week’s program I’ve put together a variety show with a little tribute to the late Colin Tench. We’ll hear a new one from the Colin Tench Project, and two from a couple of his other projects, BunChakeze and Corvus Stone. I’ll also be spinning lots of great stuff from The Fierce & The Dead, Fractal Mirror, Bram Stoker, Jethro Tull, Steven Wilson, Downes-Braide Association, Rush, Spiral Key, and Somnambulist.

The Progressive Tracks Show #225 (Out Of The Bowl… Challenging Listens), originally broadcast on Friday, August 25, 2017, is now available to download or listen to anytime you desire.

We’re all very comfortable in our own little “bowls”… our homes… our cars… and our music.  But that’s not progressing… and quite frankly, it can be boring as hell.

So this week we’ll listen to some more challenging tunes that will really make you listen… leap… and adapt.  You might find that you’re actually pretty tolerant (and no, it’s not all loud and obnoxious).    ;o)

PLAYLIST:

  • Steven Wilson – “Nowhere Now” from To the Bone on SW Records
  • Krokofant – “Tommy Synth” from Krokofant III on Rune Grammofon
  • Yolk – “Solar” from Solar on Nuun Records
  • Fang Chia – “Rondo Tarantella” from Above Ground on Independent
  • Syrinx – “Syren” from Tumblers from the Vault on RVNG Intl.
