THE PROGRESSIVE TRACKS SHOW #308       (6th Anniversary Show)

– 6 years is a long time to do something.
– 6 years is a long time to do something that takes time. Every. Day.
– 6 years is a long time to struggle to build a faithful listener base.
– But… 6 years is an instant in time when you’re having fun. And I truly am!

15 April 2013 marked the first ever edition of Progressive Tracks (as it was first named). It was Tax Day… I had just finished my taxes… I was really nervous.

6 years later marks the 308th edition of The Progressive Tracks Show. It is Tax Day… I have filed for an extension… I’m still nervous; hopefully it doesn’t show.

I’ll be spinning some most excellent tunes. You’ll be sitting back and enjoying. Teamwork!     ;o)

THE PROGRESSIVE TRACKS SHOW #307
(Enter… The Artist)

Being a source of inspiration for others isn’t easy.  Those with the innate talent for seeing the world in a different way are, themselves, different.  And that doesn’t always fit in so well with what the rest of ‘the sleepers’ consider as the norm.

This week we’ll explore the necessary, but uncommon role of The Artist, with another think-for-yourself theme show.  NOTE:  This show is dedicated to an artist (and DJ) at KPTZ whose inspiration was lost to us recently.

Thymme Jones and Chicago’s long-time, genre-bending chameleons, Cheer-Accident, have contributed two new songs to the new Skin Graft Records compilation, “Post Now: Round One – Chicago vs. New York”, that is scheduled for release later this month.

Progzilla Radio has the honor of premiering one of these tracks, “Site”, to the world on our web page and on The Progressive Tracks Show hosted by Mike “ProgTracks” Pollack.

Written decades ago but never recorded, “Site” recalls the guitar stylings of Cheer-Accident’s late guitarist, Phil Bonnet, who was responsible for the distinct sounds on classic albums like “Salad Days” and “Trading Balloons”.

Track Artists:

Carmen Armillas – vocals
Jeff Libersher- electric and acoustic guitars
Thymme Jones – backing-vocals, bass synth, drums, keys
Scott Rutledge – words
Todd Rittmann – mastering

Post Now: Round One – Chicago vs. New York”, pits several forward-thinking bands from Chicago and New York in a musical battle for supremacy.  The compilation, featuring rare and exclusive songs, is due for release on Skin Graft Records on 15 March 2019, and is available through Bandcamp in digital download and compact disc formats at this site:

Big thanks go to Mark Fischer at Skin Graft Records, for giving Progzilla Radio the opportunity to bring great new music to the world… and to YOU!
