U.S. Progressive Metal/Rock group THOUGHT CHAMBER are not only working on a new, third studio album to follow up 2003’s “Psykerion” effort, but are now in the meantime also launching another video clip for the track  “Psykerion: The Question” off the previous release.

Check out the video here: https://youtu.be/ZCTfzlmiOfw

THOUGHT CHAMBER are currently at work in the studio for their upcoming new album release, expected for later in 2018 via InsideOutMusic and the band checked in with the following comment:
“THOUGHT CHAMBER is hard at work in the studio recording their as yet untitled 3rd album. Although not a concept album like their previous “Psykerion” release, it may include the continuation of that record’s storyline. New songs include “Myst Of Lyriad”, “Rainless”, “Identity Theft”, “Blinded”, “A Modern Tragedy”, and yet another instrumental in the continuing saga of “Mr. Qwinkle”. In the meantime, a video for the band’s song, “Psykerion: The Question”, has popped up out of nowhere!”

A first short teaser preview clip of the new song “Rainless” can be checked out here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAI2qhrVbR0

THOUGHT CHAMBER features vocalist Ted Leonard (Spock’s Beard, Enchant), drummer Mike Haid (David T. Chastain, Michael Harris, Joe Stump), keyboardist Bill Jenkins (Enchant), bassist Jeff Plant (Agrat) and guitarist Michael Harris (Darkology, Vitalij Kuprij).

“Psykerion” contained 16 tracks / 64 minutes of superb true progressive metal with a technical sci-fi twist, likely to appeal to fans of Dream Theater, Yes, Rush or Planet X. The album’s cover artwork was designed by John E. Holland / MistyMountainGraphics.com. The album was recorded in various locations between 2012 and 2013 and finally mixed and mastered by Tom Size (Y&T, Aerosmith, Mr. Big, Enchant) at Tomland Studios, Pacheco, CA.

The first pressing European CD edition of “Psykerion” comes with an O-Card packaging and two additional bonus tracks (“Isle of Bizen [acoustic version] and “Recoil [instrumental version]”). It can still be ordered from the IOM webshop in Europe here: http://smarturl.it/thoughtchamberiom

German instrumental rock powerhouse Long Distance Calling recently announced the release of their sixth studio album ‘Boundless’ for 2nd February 2018. After a week of teasing online, the band are extremely pleased to announce the launch of the official video for first single ‘Out There’ (directed by Iconographic), which you can see here:
http://vevo.ly/zool4F

The band comments: “Here it is! ‘Out There’, the first song from our new album ‘Boundless’, accompanied by a beautiful video shot in the Dolomites. When we started to write this album, there was no plan behind it. Just the idea of four guys and the chemistry between us, no limitations. This idea is mirrored in this video, the artwork and the album title. Follow us through the wilderness up to the mountain top. ‘Out There’ is the pure essence of LDC combined in an epic and extensive long track.”

The album will be released as a special edition digipak CD, Gatefold 2LP + CD (incl. etching on side D) & as digital download. Pre-order now here:
https://longdistancecalling.lnk.to/Boundless

Following the release of two albums that saw the band exploring the addition of vocals to their sound, the band have gone back to basics and created a purely instrumental record.

The band comments: “We are happy to announce our new album ‘BOUNDLESS’ which will see the light of day on February 2nd 2018. This time around the four of us locked ourselves in a room over a couple of months and pretty much got back to where we started as a band to catch this “go with the flow” feeling. This is probably the purest LDC album ever, no guests, no vocals, all instrumental.  We´re stoked how it turned out and this album got a lot of energy, heaviness, melodies and twists, we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.”

Watch a teaser for the album, revealing the artwork and a snippet of new music here:
https://youtu.be/FBEYuMTheGo

The track-listing of the album is as follows:

  1. Out There
  2. Ascending
  3. In The Clouds
  4. Like A River
  5. The Far Side
  6. On The Verge
  7. Weightless
  8. Skydivers

Further to the above, the band recently announced new tour dates in support of the new album release. Two new dates have been added to the list, in bold below. See here for the full list of dates:

Presented by VISIONS, GITARRE & BASS, METAL.DE, ECLIPSED, METAL HAMMER, GUITAR
Feb 2nd 2018 – Dortmund (D), FZW (“Boundless” Release Show / followed by Visions Party)
Feb 23rd 2018 – Saarbrücken (D), Garage (Club)
Feb 24th 2018 – Laufen (CH), Biomill
Feb 28th 2018 – Hannover (D), Lux
Mar 1st 2018 – Berlin (D), Musik & Frieden
Mar 2nd 2018 –  Hamburg (D), Indra
Mar 3rd 2018 – Kiel (D), Die Pumpe
Mar 4th 2018 – Bremen (D), Tower
Mar 5th 2018 – Köln (D), Gebäude 9
Mar 6th 2018 – Wiesbaden (D), Schlachthof (Kesselhaus)
Mar 7th 2018 – Stuttgart (D), ClubCann
Mar 8th 2018 – München (D), Kranhalle
Mar 9th 2018 – Wien (AT), B72
Mar 10th 2018 – Prag (CZ), Nova Chmelnice
Mar 11th 2018 – Dresden (D), Beatpol
Mar 12th 2018 – Nürnberg (D), Club Stereo

Long Distance Calling tear everything down and let it blossom again. ‘Boundless’ sounds like freedom found again, sometimes weightless, sometimes oppressively heavy.

Live dates in support of the new album will be announced soon, but prior to that in January 2018, Long Distance Calling will support progressive metal veterans Fates Warning for two shows in Germany. You can find those dates below:
18th January – Turock, Essen, Germany
19th January – Colos-Saal, Aschaffenburg, Germany

The Sea Within – a new art-rock group formed by Roine Stolt (Transatlantic, The Flower Kings), Daniel Gildenlöw (Pain of Salvation), Jonas Reingold (The Flower Kings, Karmakanic, The Tangent), Tom Brislin (Renaissance, Spiraling, Yes Symphonic, Deborah Harry) & Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats, Steven Wilson, UK, Joe Satriani) – have announced they will release their as-yet-untitled debut album in Spring 2018.

Roine Stolt comments on how the project came together: “I think all it started as a suggestion from the record company – putting together a new band, starting fresh, seeing if collective writing could spawn a unique style. Call it a supergroup if you want – I think we can handle that.”

The members recently entered Livingston Studios in London to begin recording the basic tracks, and found an instant chemistry in the way they worked together. “Going into the studio in London was taking a great risk as we had not been in the same room together beforehand.” Roine continues: “We had just sent demos around and didn’t really know if we could make great music together, but we managed to track almost 2 hours of new music, a mix of collective ideas. We also had a lot of great ‘off-time’, sharing laughs and stories in local pubs – that part is important.”

Currently the members are putting the finishing touches on their debut album, and of the music’s direction Roine says: “There are elements of prog, pop, art-rock and many cinematic elements. I suppose the music comes from within our collective memories of all that we love as far as sounds, visions and poetry. We hope that discovering the music will be a journey for the open-minded fan – something as fresh and uncertain and unfolding as it is for us.”

The Sea Within has also announced their first confirmed live date, taking to the stage at Night of the Prog Festival 2018 at Loreley, Germany on the weekend of 13-15th July 2018 alongside Camel, Big Big Train, Riverside & more. Tickets are available now here:
http://www.nightoftheprogfestival.com/en/home-2/

Drawing on their collective experience from across the rock and prog spectrum, The Sea Within sees them coming together to craft new music that sees them all leaving their respective comfort zones and challenging themselves.
