Polish Progressive Rock masters RIVERSIDE will soon be releasing a special edition 2CD+DVD version of the “Wasteland” album on November 29th, 2019 via InsideOutMusic.

In order to promote this upcoming release, a new video clip directed by Tomasz Pulsakowski / Sightsphere & Animatic is being launched today here: https://youtu.be/6dLf45s67hM

The surround edition of the album with a bonus “Acoustic Session” EP will be out very soon, and the final concerts of the “Wasteland Tour” have already been announced for March and April 2020. • THE WHO WHO (Proto-Prog, 2019)
Review by TCat — The Who's studio output has, of course, been rather spotty since 1982, and after several breakups and reunions, has only resulted in two studio albums; "Endless Wilre" in 2006, and more currently "WHO", which was released in November of 2019. All that remains of the band is Roger Daltrey doing almost […]
    • FLAMING ROW The Pure Shine (Progressive Metal, 2019)
Review by Zoltanxvamos — As a Stephen King nut, the lyrics work for me. This album has its purity in amazing lyrics, taking a story by my favourite author and making it into something good. Now, the problem with this album is the primary lead vocalist, she is decent. Her voice is very... mediocre, it […]
    • ESA KOTILAINEN Tellus (Progressive Electronic, 2019)
Review by Matti — Spacey electronic ambient from the Finnish maestro.Sadly there are very few reviews here for the discography of Esa Kotilainen. At least a Finnish prog-oriented listener most likely knows him, both from his solo performances and albums (1977's seminal Ajatuslapsi and many electro/ambient albums released mostly in this Millenium) and from his […]
    • MARBIN Strong Thing (Jazz Rock/Fusion, 2019)
Review by TCat — There are many bands out there where their main strength is in working together to create improvisations in a most seamless way, one or two instruments taking a spotlight while the other instruments work with them to create a background that usually is based around a theme, and all of the […]
    • ANDROID East Of Eden Revisited (Neo-Prog, 2019)
Review by tszirmay — December of 2009, after concentrated pestering of PA administrators to include the Hungarian prog group Android into the progarchives database, I got to review East of Eden and wrote of a great record marred by poor elements and summarized my review with the following : '''The fact that the guitarist is […]
    • BILLY SHERWOOD Citizen - In The Next Life (Crossover Prog, 2019)
Review by kev rowland — I guess any review of Billy Sherwood will mention he is the current bassist of Yes, that he released some albums with Chris Squire as Conspiracy, formed World Trade, and released six albums as Circa with former yes keyboard player Tony Kaye, so why should I be any different? This […]
    • THE COSMIC DEAD Scottish Space Race (Psychedelic/Space Rock, 2019)
Review by BrufordFreak — An excursion into heavy psychedelic rock that will be emotionally satisfying for a very specific mood set and which, I fear, will not be everyone's cup of tea.1. "Portal" (20:57) opens with five minutes of tension-building drumless synth and guitar work before machine gun drumming, lap-steel, and hypnotic vocal chant enter […]
    • FEN The Dead Light (Experimental/Post Metal, 2019)
Review by TCat — "The Dead Light" by the UK Post Metal band Fen is the band's 6th full length album. The band is currently a trio made up of original band members Frank Allain (known as "The Watcher") on lead vocals and guitars, and Adam Allain (known as "Grungyn") on bass and vocals. The […]
    • RETROSPECTIVE Latent Avidity (Progressive Metal, 2019)
Review by BrufordFreak — A nice return to form for these heavy proggers from Leszno (Poland). Like French band Children in Paradise (Dam Kat), they display a great command of how simple heavy prog can be. Plus they come up with great melodies.1. "Intro" (0:49) atmospherics with clock ticking. (4.5/5)2. "Still There" (6:07) great opening […]
    • STEPHAN THELEN Fractal Guitar (RIO/Avant-Prog, 2019)
Review by memowakeman — Review originally posted at www.therocktologist.com The name of Stephan Thelen might not be as familiar as he deserves, since his work this millennium as a Sonar member or solo musician has been very prolific. However, with the release of this 'Fractal Guitar' album, he and his collaborators have made us (the […]
