New Album- Progressing into new territory!
We’re super stoked and honored to have been chosen to play next year’s RoSfest (May 8,9,10) in Sarasota, Florida! Our goal is to have our new album ready for the masses by then. You Have It All will consist of 7-9 tracks totaling more than an hour in length containing some powerful tracks such as “Conduit”, our first fully instrumental piece. It will include our latest single “Nothing Wrong”, an anthem of individuality and freedom, and our previous single “Beautiful Light” (our first waltz!) Progressive rock fans will especially appreciate the TWO 15-minute tracks we have planned. The title track is a strong, edgy piece made up of several parts. The final epic piece “Flowing With the Change” deals with acceptance of the past and looking into the future with exciting possibilities!
Lobate Scarp is the musical creation of Vocalist/ Keyboardist/ Composer Adam Sears. He is joined by Andy Catt (bass) and Andrea Whitt (viola/pedal steel), and a myriad of talented guest artists live and in the studio including Peter Matuchniak (Guitar), Hoyt Binder (Guitar), Michael Gerbrandt (Drums), Rachel Grace (Violin), and Danica Pinner (Cello). From progressive rock influences like Genesis, Yes, and Phish, to the rock sensibilities of bands like Kansas, Muse, Faith No More and Styx, and a pop infusion of catchy vocals like Simple Minds, The Killers, The Police, Queen, and Foreigner; Lobate Scarp’s unique Progressive Opera-Rock music will surely take you on a journey you won’t forget. Lobate Scarp’s full length debut album “Time and Space” was released on 12-12-12 and received accolades from all over the world. The album took 5+ years and 50+ musicians to make. In addition to vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, also recorded were Trumpets, Saxophone, Viola, Violin, Cello, Theremin, Glockenspiel, and a 30+ person choir singing in Latin. Percussionist Alex Acuña (Weather Report) appears as a special guest in the opening 15-minute title track and Rich Mouser (Spock’s Beard, Transatlantic, Neal Morse) mixed and mastered the album. Steve Leavitt produced and engineered. The band’s newest songs appeared in the Spirals and Portals EP released with world-wide digital distribution though 80/20 Records in 2019. Lobate Scarp will be playing shows in 2020 with a newly formed line-up and they are excited to make their RoSfest Progressive Music Festival debut next May!
