Finnish pop/metal five-piece Memoremains have been busy touring throughout 2019, but that didn’t interfere with them entering the studio to record three singles this year. The latest is a cover version of Madonna’s hit “Sorry” from the pop goddess’ 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor. Prog Sphere is hosting an exclusive premiere of a video; watch it below.
Keyboardist Mikko Kujanpää commented: “Madonna’s ‘Sorry’ has really striking rhythms that fit nicely into rock and we wanted to try what it would sound like. The pumping pulse is also a familiar feature of Memoremains, so we made two different worlds fit together in our own way.”
As mentioned, Memoremains have already launched two singles this year including “Inferno” and “Illusion” which both showcase very well the skillset the band, fronted by vocalist Johanna Ahonen, has. Combining together catchy pop melodies, headbanging metal riffs, groovy disco beats and a hint of symphonic epicness is what Memoremains successfully deliver in their tunes.
Johanna Ahonen – vocals
Mikko Kujanpää – keyboards
Aleksi Mäkelä – guitars
Aapo Timonen – bass
