SONS OF APOLLO–former Dream Theater members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force) — are pleased to announce the release of ‘Live With The Plovdiv Psychotic Symphony’ on the 30th August 2019.

‘Live With The Plovdiv Psychotic Symphony’ documents the band’s remarkable one-off performance at the Ancient Roman Theatre in Plovdiv, Bulgaria alongside a full orchestra & choir, playing tracks from their debut album ‘Psychotic Symphony’ as well as a selection of tracks by legendary bands. It will be available as a limited deluxe 3CD + DVD + Blu-Ray Artbook, Special Edition 3CD + DVD Digipak, Standalone Blu-Ray & Digital Album.

Today they launch a full clip of the band performing the Dream Theater track ‘Just Let Me Breathe’, a song from Mike & Derek’s time in the band. Watch it now here:
https://youtu.be/3HdbG07nFfw

Mike comments: “In writing the setlist for Sons Of Apollo’s very first tour, I knew we had to include a few songs from the Dream Theater album ‘Falling Into Infinity’ which was the only full length studio album we did while Derek was in the band. I wanted to do ‘Just Let Me Breathe’ as it’s one of the deeper cuts on the album and I knew SOA would absolutely slay it! Between Bumble, Derek & Billy’s crazy guitar, keys & bass unison sections and Jeff’s overall driving, funky vocal delivery (with myself on the verses & chorus and Bumble on the bridge), I knew the Sons would breathe a whole new life into this track and even kick it up a few notches! Plus, as the song’s lyricist, I took artistic license and changed the lyric from ‘Shannon Hoon’ to ‘Chris Cornell’ to give it a little more relevance in 2019.”

Everything was aligned that evening: an absolutely beautiful Roman amphitheatre and a perfectly gorgeous summer evening, one set of SOA material and one set of specially chosen cover songs, and to top it all off being joined by a symphony orchestra and choir…it was a magical evening for everybody in attendance and now we can share it with the rest of the world immortalized in this incredible live package.

PATTERN-SEEKING ANIMALS is the brand new group featuring the talents of current & former Spock’s Beard members Ted Leonard, Jimmy Keegan & Dave Meros as well as long-time contributing songwriter-producer John Boegehold. The bands self-titled debut was recently released, and now they are pleased to launch a Jimmy Keegan drum play-through video for the track ‘These Are My Things’, and you can watch that here: https://youtu.be/o0glz6gYXCA

John Boegehold comments of the new album release: “We’re all excited that everyone will finally get to hear the first of hopefully many albums from Pattern-Seeking Animals.

Originally a vehicle for a few tracks John had been working on in early 2018, he quickly came up with enough music to work towards producing an album. With that in mind, he enlisted the talents of Jimmy Keegan (drums & vocals), Ted Leonard (vocals & guitar) & Dave Meros (bass), with Boegehold handling all the synths. He adds: “Besides live strings on a few songs and a female backing vocalist on another, it was all done between the four of us with Dave and Ted ending up as co-writers on some of the material.

With the band obviously being closely associated with Spock’s Beard, John was conscious of exploring different avenues with Pattern-Seeking Animals, whether it was song structures, vocal arrangements, synth sounds or emotional textures. “Pattern-Seeking Animals was a clean slate so I found myself drawing on a few different musical influences and using some contemporary production ideas and sounds that I probably wouldn’t use with SB for various reasons.

The album will be released on limited CD digipak, gatefold 2LP + CD & as digital album. Order now here: https://patternseekinganimals.lnk.to/PatternSeekingAnimals

The track-listing is as follows:
1. No Burden Left To Carry
2. The Same Mistakes Again
3. Orphans Of The Universe
4. No One Ever Died And Made Me King
5. Fall Away
6. These Are My Things
7. We Write The Ghost Stories
8. No Land’s Man
9. Stars Along The Way

As John notes, as the project came together it quickly became apparent that they would want to take this material out live: “Originally it was intended to be a recording project but as it was coming together we started talking seriously about doing it as a live band. Because of the complexity of a lot of the material, it’ll require an additional musician or two to pull it off live. The plan is to tour as much as possible and to come out with a new album at least once a year. In fact, work on the second album is already well under way.

Nad Sylvan’s new album ‘The Regal Bastard’ is out now. His third album for InsideOutMusic, and his 5th overall, this record is the final part of the Vampirate trilogy that the Steve Hackett vocalist began on 2015’s ‘Courting The Widow’.

Today he launches a video for the track ‘I Am The Sea’, and you can watch that here:
https://youtu.be/9T7xVJvU_Yo

Watch the previously released video for ‘Whoa (Always Been Without You)’ here:
https://youtu.be/hwm7sgkcnW4

Find some of the brilliant media reactions below:

“a grandly elaborate theatrical production”Prog

“a carefully crafted sonic experience with precision instrumentation and is a superb showcase for Nad’s vocal, compositional and arranging talents.”The Prog Report

“Sylvan has nonetheless created an original, and vibrant example of modern progressive rock”Metal Wani

Once more, Sylvan has pulled together a tremendous array of musical talent to bring his inspiration to life.

“Almost everyone who worked on ‘The Bride Said No’ is back with me again. Anders Wollbeck has again co-written two songs and plays an array of instruments as well as co producing them. Steve Hackett plays guitar on one track, Guthrie Govan on two, while Tony Levin does the bass on a song. Jonas Reingold plays bass on much of the album, and Nick D’Virgilio handles the drums. And I also have the same female singers working with me once more, these being Sheona Urquhart, Jade Ell and Tania Doko. And on ‘Honey I’m Home’, there’s a big choir section, with every singer that has been involved with the 3 albums that make up the Vampirate trilogy, concluding the story in an honourable way. We also have Nick Beggs joining in on this part of the song.”

‘The Regal Bastard’ is released as a limited CD Digipak (incl. 2 bonus tracks), Gatefold 2LP + CD & as digital album. Order the album here: https://nadsylvanmusic.lnk.to/TheRegalBastard

The full-track-listing can be found below:

1. I Am The Sea
2. Oahu
3. Whoa (Always Been Without You)
4. Meet Your Maker
5. The Regal Bastard
6. Leave Me On These Waters
7. Honey I’m Home
8. Diva Time (Bonus Track)
9. The Lake Isle of Innisfree (Bonus Track)

Nad comments: “For me, this is the best of the three records. I honestly believe it will delight the fans. It is maybe not as riff heavy as the others. I would describe the sound as coming from the notion of pop going prog, with R’n’B elements in there as well. It is very soulful. But that suits my style. I am a vocal chameleon, and you’ll hear that throughout. It is the finest possible way to bring the trilogy to an end.”

Nad will spend most of 2019 touring once again with Steve Hackett, as he celebrates the 40 years anniversary of “Spectral Mornings”, as well as the Genesis classic ‘Selling England By The Pound’. Find the full list of dates here: http://www.hackettsongs.com/tour.html

Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings comments: “We’re happy to go on tour in Europe again in December – We will present The Flower Kings music from the early days – concert favourites – plus some brand new music – that is along the lines of the early music of the band – symphonic rock. Kayak’s Ton Scherpenzeel adds: “We can’t wait to go on tour with the Flower Kings in December. For Kayak that will be a great way to end the year, a chance to meet new fans and it also serves as an inspiration for making the next album.

InsideOutMusic recently announced the signing of Philadelphia-based duo RISE TWAIN to the label, for the release of their self-titled debut album on the 6th September 2019. The union of Brett William Kull (producer, audio engineer, and member of Echolyn, Grey Eye Glances, and Francis Dunnery’s New Progressives) and J.D. Beck (The Scenic Route, Beck-Fields, author & playwright) bring their collective years of direct and varied experience in writing, performing and recording music together for their impressive debut.

Today they launch the first single taken from the album, and you can listen to the track ‘Everspring’ here: https://youtu.be/bsZu4GCRnrw

The band comments: “This is the first song on our debut album; it’s a banger! Smacks you in the face like a sexy waltz steeped in heated blues; unbridled in the chaos and birth of life.

The album is also now available to pre-order on Limited CD Digipak, 180g Black Vinyl LP + CD & as digital album here: https://risetwain.lnk.to/RiseTwain

The track-listing is as follows:
1. Everspring
2. Golden
3. The Range
4. Lit Up
5. Death of Summer
6. Oh This Life
7. Prayers
8. Falling Skies
9. Into A Dream
10. That Is Love
Talking of how the duo came together: “I produced an album for J.D.’s original band, The Scenic Route”, says Kull, describing his first meeting with Beck in 2007. “They were a rocky, progressive kind of band, like a Jeff Buckley kind of thing. I was immediately drawn to his vocals. He’s such a strong singer.” Kull says he and Beck immediately hit it off, what he describes as an “inevitable connection.

Adds Beck, “I just knew I had to work with Brett on a higher level. When I came in to cut the vocals on the Scenic Route album, the way we worked together…some people you just gel with, and then some people you have a barrier with. Brett and I gelled.” They spoke of one day collaborating on their own project, which finally surfaces as Rise Twain.

Discussing the album’s musical direction, Beck notes, “There’s not a typical structural theme that we use over and over and over. ‘Organic’ is a word that comes to mind. Seeking openness through simplicity and allowing the complexity of music to exist without the necessity of overly packing it or overly processing it. With that we were able to achieve such a broad spectrum of sound, and a colossal sense of its existence, without having to have a billion guitars and a billion things put over top. There’s some colouring with strings and other embellishments, but it really is something very simple and stripped down, and it’s awesome.

Kull adds, “There’s a lot of complexity in this, but it’s not overt in the least bit. But yet, when you get into it, there’s all this really rich harmonic and dynamic stuff going on.

RISE TWAIN are:
J.D. Beck: Piano, lead and backing vocals
Brett William Kull: Guitars, bass, keys, percussion, lead and backing vocals

The album will be released on limited CD digipak, gatefold 2LP + CD & as digital album. Pre-order now here: https://patternseekinganimals.lnk.to/PatternSeekingAnimals

SOTO started in 2015 derived from the ideal of Jeff Scott Soto wanting to return to his heavier roots. So far they released 2 albums, “Inside The Vertigo“ (2015) and “DIVAK“ (2016), taking a short break while Jeff embarked on the supergroup Sons Of Apollo, alongside Mike Portnoy, Derek Sherinian, Billy Sheehan and Bumblefoot.

Now SOTO are returning under the same umbrella as Sons Of Apollo, having signed with InsideOutMusic. The new album “Origami“ contains material that continues to expand and move the band towards new heights whilst following up with their brand of Power Rock.
