Burntfield

Helsinki-based Melodic Rock band Burntfield embarks on a 3-date tour in The Netherlands in April 2016.

Burntfield is a new, fresh and interesting melodic rock-band from Helsinki, Finland. In their music they combine elements from hard rock through hints of AOR and blues to progressive rock, reaching for a vibrant and organic sound. By mixing vintage and modern and sharing the vocal and songwriting responsibilities, strong melodies and diverse compositions are born.

Burntfield started in late 2012, and have released an EP Organic Waves (2013), an online
single Let It Die Away (2014) and most recently the EP Cold Heat (2015), which has drawn positive interest internationally, with great reviews and radio plays in eg. The Netherlands, Belgium, England, Germany, France and the U.S.A.

“We are really enthusiastic about bringing the Burntfield bandwagon to The Netherlands, and look forward to some memorable melodic rock celebrations out there”, guitarist-singer Juho Myllylä comments.

darryl way - myths legends and talesLondon, UK – Darryl Way is the co-founder of CURVED AIR, a trail blazing rock violinist and composer. “Myths, Legends and Tales” is Way’s latest PROG album which takes its inspiration from some of the mythologies (both ancient and present day) which have inspired him.

“Myths, Legends and Tales” is a mixture of instrumental Symphonic Rock and Songs. The inspiration for the instrumental pieces comes from the mystical world of Greek Mythology, whereas the songs are a mixture of observations about the world we live in and stories and events that have been inspirational.

“As a rock violinist I have always been searching for that elusive sound, turn of phrase and means of expression that would give the electric violin a legitimate voice in the idiom of rock music. With this album, I feel that I have come closer than ever before to achieving this goal. ‘Myths, Legends and Tales’ is another attempt by me to fly the flag for ‘Prog Rock’. I’ve raised the flag up the mast as far as I am able and can only now hope, that it will be seen and appreciated by the devoted fans of this neglected genre.” – Darryl Way

The album features full length prog tracks which will appeal to Curved Air fans and new listeners who have been enjoying Way’s return to the music industry in a burst of fresh creativity.

Track Listing:

1. APOLLO (RACING AGAINST THE SUN)

Withem is an upcoming Progressive Metal band hailing from Norway who are inspired by the likes of Symphony X, Pagan’s Mind, Dream Theater and Circus Maximus, concentrating heavily on melodic, memorable hooks, but still with plenty of stunning and virtuoso instrumental sections. The band debuted with “The Point of You” in 2013, gathering excellent reviews from several music websites, blogs and magazines from all over the world. The release was followed by European touring with Pagan’s Mind, Circus Maximus and Seventh Wonder, and performances at both ProgPower USA and ProgPower Oslo, always with an extremely positive reception.

The new album, “The Unforgiving Road” sees the band perfecting their style. WITHEM’s gripping, melody-driven songs avoid the clichés and pitfalls of overly dramatic instrumental sections and sheer senseless complexity and instead center on creative interplay between the musicians, while the unique vocal range of Ole Aleksander Wagenius gives the band a distinctive touch. Just like the debut album, “The Unforgiving Road” was produced and mixed by guitarist Øyvind Voldmo Larsen at his own Lionheart Studio, boasting powerful and bombastic production values with plenty of moments for the listener to notice the most subtle intricate parts of the songs.

The Unforgiving Road is a the culmination of almost a year worth of composing, recording and producing. We didn’t want to rush things after the first album, to avoid the usual pitfalls of “sophomore albums,” says WITHEM guitar player and producer Oyvind Larsen “The challenges we encountered while writing and recording can only be matched with how rewarding it feels after everything is set and done!”

Øyvind once again took the helm for most of the composition and the whole scope of recording, mixing and producing, and we can’t wait to hear everyone’s reactions after they listen to the end result,” adds new bassist Miguel Pereira. “We are looking forward to start promoting The Unforgiving Road with live shows right after the album is out, and meet all our friends and fans throughout the world.”

Tracklisting of “The Unforgiving Road” includes:

  1. …Intro
  2. Exit
  3. In The Hands Of A God
  4. The Pain I Collected
  5. Riven
  6. C’est La Vie
  7. The Eye In The Sky
  8. Arrhythmia
  9. In My Will
  10. Unaffected Lov

But that’s not all. In the video below, Li-sa-X is joined by his mom and younger brother. Check this out!
